4x4 Adventure Show 2018

What a great day out we had yesterday at Eastern Creek Raceway...

With much needed rain predicted, we arrived a bit after 10am and headed straight outside to see as much of the outdoor displays as we could while weather permitted. There was some awesome new gear on display with everything from 2019 camper trailers, fishing gear, boats and all general 4x4 and camping accessories. It was great to see the fantastic Trackabout ( https://trackabout.com.au/ ) campers on display. These are a fantastic quality, super fast setup, rugged as buggery camper trailer which are all Aussie made up in QLD so well done to Dave Adams and the guys there for making such a great product here in Australia. Actually that was something very disappointing to see - all the cloned Chinese crap that was on display. There was literally 4 or 5 different campers from different "manufacturers" all in a row that were near identical ! It looked like all the companies had done was log onto alibaba and searched 'camper trailer' and then hit the buy it now option. It was a joke !! Anyway, getting a little side tracked there sorry ...

Back to what else was good there. The tough truck display was very entertaining to watch as they crabbed and crawled their heavily modified vehicles up the near vertical embankment, over huge concrete water pipes and the like. These things are insane !

Some great new products were on display from already well known suppliers like Redarc, OzPig etc and a few new companies that have seemed to have really taken off out of nowhere selling everything from LED lighting, 12v products galore, recovery gear, UHF equipment, wheels and all things camping related. Some great "show specials" too if you knew were to look which could see you coming home with more goodies for less !

Got to have a chat too with some of the industry greats like Roothy @Roothy4WD, Pat Callinan @4X4PAT , Rick #OMGRICK from the Offroad Adventure Show, Allan Gray from Terrain Tamers and Jilleroo Jess to name but a few.

We wandered back inside to take advantage of the undercover as the rain did start coming down heavier early afternoon with it breaking just long enough when we left to do the long walk back to the carpark - which could've been a test track for Mud Terrain tyres in itself !

Topped off the weekend with a nice drive on Sunday out to Wheeny Creek for a look around and found some great 4x4 tracks to venture down. We did a couple of these and then headed home late Sunday afternoon. Great weekend indeed !
